LEISURE AND ACTIVITIES

Watersports

In the Dordogne and Vézère Valleys bordering Sarlat you will find a wide range of watersports activities available all year round. You can try your hand at fishing, water skiing or take a pedal boat for a spin.

At Les Grottes de Roffy, it’s our staff’s pleasure to help you pick some outdoor activities during your holiday in the Dordogne.

At the watersports centres of Carsac and Vitrac you can have a go at stand-up paddleboarding, which allows you to enjoy the landscape while gliding across the water. Kayaking and canoeing is also very popular and is a great way to see the castles of Dordogne. You can find many picnic areas and rest facilities along the tree-lined rivers.

Family activities

In addition to the leisure centres, which are very popular in the summer, nearby Lac Tamniès is an ideal spot for fishing and swimming with lifeguard on duty.

Just 10 km from Sarlat, the Calviac wildlife reserve takes on a tour of the animals of the world, continent by continent… All in just two hours!

You can spot mink, squirrels, wolverines, lemurs, wallabies and margays living out in the open. You can enjoy a relaxing stroll around the Carsac-Aillac water gardens housing a collection of Asian plants.

At Sarlat, the historical escape game La Tour du Bourreau immerses you in the world of 18th century Freemasons. You’ll have to get your thinking caps on and solve the puzzle in one hour. It’s a fun, adrenaline-filled moment to enjoy as a team.
